Scholarships
The NorCal League is committed to making the sport of high school mountain biking as accessible as possible. In order to honor that commitment, we have a robust scholarship fund that we are constantly raising money to support. Should you need financial support in order to participate in the League, please complete the following information. These scholarships are only applicable to League-specific fees (including registration, camps, clinics, races, events, etc), and not to fees that individual teams charge.
We encourage student-athletes to apply for financial assistance through our scholarship program. Scholarships are established to help student-athletes with season fees, race fees, camps, or anything related to helping them participate in a NorCal League event.

Scholarship Reporting: Scholarship recipients are required to complete an online “Scholarship Fund Impact Survey” upon completion of the riding season for which they received their grant. Recipients are also encouraged to submit photographs and videos from their activities during the season including; racing, training with the team, coaching and instruction, etc. Information on how to complete this survey will be provided to grantees.
Phil Heiman New Rider Scholarship
In honor of Phil, friends and family have created the “Phil Heiman New Rider Scholarship” to support NorCal League student-athletes who are new to the sport of cycling.
Through this scholarship, we hope to continue Phil’s legacy of making cycling a friendly place that is accessible to all. Cycling was an important part of Phil’s life. In addition to the time he spent in the saddle, he was a pillar in the community; organizing and supporting events and managing a local bike racing club. He was also known for welcoming new riders with a kind word, encouragement, and equipment. This scholarship will cover 100% of the recipient’s NorCal race fees for the season in which it is awarded.
